Hiya! I am Sherrie-Lyn Lille – Founder of The Silver Tulip

I grew up in the wonderfully remote Zambian bush – one of those idyllic childhoods of running barefoot, swimming in rivers and generally being super creative with any sticks, stones and flowers to make delightful fairy gardens and incredible forts (well in my mind anyway!!) I was lucky to have two amazing artistic influences in my life - My mum, who sewed most of my clothes and has always done incredible embroidery work and my grandmother who taught me to knit and crochet.

I was driven to own my own business and provide a living for others too – a trait that I happily inherited from my exceptionally hard-working dad – whose work ethic I aspire to live up to.

The Silver Tulip was born. I wanted to create beautiful, simple, top quality jewellery made by Zambians. Jewellery that didn’t compromise on design or finish.

My inspiration for the jewellery I design has always been the natural world – from tiny bugs to massive trees, epic sunsets to sunrises that leave you in awe.

Zambia has a plethora of gorgeous gemstones that I knew needed to be incorporated, so in order to make sure I was only using the best I went on to study with GIA to earn my Graduate Gemologist Certification and many of our pieces hold these awesome gems.

Each item that comes off our benches is lovingly handmade, silver and gold formed and shaped by artisans meaning that every single piece will always be different and that yours is truly a unique work of art.
